I currently see adult individuals in-person in Evansville, Indiana as well as virtually throughout Indiana and Illinois.

Hey there! I’m so glad you’re here, and I can’t wait to get to know the real, authentic, you!

Therapy Where You Don't Have to Leave Parts of Yourself at the Door

Being queer can be joyful, beautiful, complicated, exhausting, freeing, ordinary, life-changing, and everything in between. There isn't one way to be LGBTQ+, just like there isn't one reason someone decides to start therapy.

Some of my clients come to therapy because they're questioning their identity. Others have known who they are for years and want support navigating relationships, family dynamics, trauma, burnout, anxiety, or life transitions. Some are looking for a therapist who won't make them educate someone about pronouns, gender identity, or queer relationships before the real work can begin.

Whatever brings you here, you deserve a space where all of you is welcome.

As a queer therapist, I know what it's like to live in a place where being yourself doesn't always feel safe or understood! Living authentically in an environment that questions, misunderstands, or politicizes your existence can be exhausting. Sometimes that exhaustion shows up as anxiety or depression. Sometimes it shows up as feeling disconnected from yourself. Sometimes it shows up as wondering if you'll ever truly belong.

Therapy offers a place where you don't have to carry all of that alone.

There Isn't One Queer Experience

One of the things I care about most is avoiding assumptions.

Being queer doesn't automatically tell me your politics, your relationships, your family experiences, your values, your faith, or what your life has been like. Some clients grew up in deeply affirming families. Others have experienced rejection, conversion efforts, religious trauma, or years of hiding parts of themselves. Some love being visibly queer. Others are still figuring out what authenticity looks like for them. A lot of my clients have already created an incredible chosen family to surround themself with, and a lot of my clients are still searching for people who feel like home. None of these experiences make someone "more" or "less" queer.

My job isn't to fit you into a stereotype. Just like with any of my clients, my job is to get to know you, find new tools that work for where you’re at, and hopefully get you on the path to living a more fulfilling and authentic life!

Maybe You're Here Because...

  • You're questioning your sexual orientation or gender identity.

  • You feel like you've spent years masking parts of yourself.

  • You're tired of being the one who has to educate everyone else.

  • Family relationships feel complicated.

  • You're navigating coming out, transitioning, or major life changes.

  • You've experienced rejection that still impacts you today.

  • You struggle with anxiety, shame, perfectionism, or self-worth.

  • You're looking for relationships where you can fully be yourself.

  • You simply want a therapist who gets it.

If you recognize yourself in any of these experiences, you're not alone.

Queerness Is Not Something That Needs to Be Fixed

One of the things I hope clients begin to experience in therapy is the belief that their queerness isn't something to overcome. For many people, years of messages from family, communities, religion, media, or society can make it feel like being queer is something to hide, apologize for, or simply survive.

I don't believe that.

I believe your identity deserves room to exist without apology. I also believe healing often involves more than reducing anxiety or processing trauma. Sometimes it means learning to trust yourself again. Building relationships where you don't have to perform. Finding community that reminds you you're worthy exactly as you are.

I've been incredibly fortunate to have queer and trans people in my own life who have shown me what genuine community looks like. They have shaped who I am in countless ways, and they continually remind me that healing doesn't happen in isolation. We heal in relationships where we feel known, accepted, challenged, and loved! My hope is that therapy can become one part of helping you build that kind of life for yourself. You deserve it!

Therapy for Queer Survivors of Sexual Trauma

Many queer and trans people who have experienced sexual trauma carry additional layers that deserve attention. Sometimes the assault is connected to someone's identity. Sometimes it isn't. Sometimes what makes healing more difficult isn't only what happened, but how others responded afterward.

I've worked alongside survivors of sexual trauma for more than a decade, and I understand that healing isn't one-size-fits-all. For queer and trans survivors, therapy may also involve navigating discrimination, fears around healthcare systems, concerns about being believed, experiences of being misgendered, fear of being outed, or wondering whether parts of your identity somehow contributed to what happened.

Let me be clear. Nothing about your identity caused your assault.

Whatever you're carrying deserves space here! Whether your work focuses primarily on trauma, identity, relationships, or something entirely different, we'll move at a pace that feels right for you.

What Therapy With Me Looks Like

From our very first session, my goal is to create a space where you don't feel pressured to prove, explain, or defend who you are.

We'll spend time understanding your relationships, your community, your history, your strengths, and the goals that brought you to therapy.

My work is grounded in collaboration, curiosity, and authenticity. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" we'll explore how your experiences have shaped you and what healing might look like moving forward.

I primarily draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Experiential Therapy, and therapeutic art when it feels helpful. (You can learn more about the therapeutic approaches I work from here!) Rather than focusing on changing who you are, these approaches help us better understand your emotions, relationships, patterns, and the parts of yourself that have worked so hard to protect you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I Have to Be Out to Start Therapy?

Not at all.

Some clients have been out for decades. Others are questioning, exploring, or aren't ready for anyone else to know. Therapy is your space, and you get to decide what feels safe to share and when.

I'm Trans. Do I Have to Teach You Everything About My Identity?

No.

While every person's experience is unique, I have extensive experience working with trans clients and have been fortunate to have some of the most important people in my life be trans as well. That doesn't mean I'll assume I know your experience, but it does mean I won't expect you to educate me before we can begin meaningful work together.

Is Therapy Only About My LGBTQ+ Identity?

Not unless you want it to be. Sometimes your identity is the main focus. Sometimes it's simply one important part of a much bigger story. We'll follow what feels most meaningful to you.

You Deserve Spaces Where You Can Be Fully Yourself

Many queer people spend years wondering if there's somewhere they can finally stop performing, stop shrinking themselves, and stop apologizing for existing. I hope therapy can be one of those places!

Whether you're navigating trauma, relationships, anxiety, identity, burnout, or simply looking for a therapist who understands the realities of being queer in today's world, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.

You don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out, you just have to show up as you are.
