Frequently Asked Questions

I do not accept insurance directly. However, if you have out-of-network (OON) benefits, you may be able to receive partial reimbursement for sessions. I’m happy to provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for this purpose.
There are many reasons for this. When insurance is involved, providers are often required to share a mental health diagnosis and details about your treatment, which become part of your permanent medical record. Insurance companies may also place limitations on the type, frequency, or length of care.
By working outside of insurance, we maintain greater privacy and flexibility. Your treatment is guided by your needs—not by insurance requirements—which allows me to provide more personalized, high-quality care.
If you’re unsure about your out-of-network benefits, I recommend contacting your insurance provider to learn more about your coverage and reimbursement options.

My fees are as follows:
Individual Therapy
Intake session (50 minutes): $150
Ongoing sessions (50 minutes): $150
Couples/Relational Therapy
Intake session (80 minutes): $250
Ongoing sessions (50 minutes): $200
Standard sessions are 50 minutes in length, with the exception of couples/relational intake sessions, which are 80 minutes.
Extended 80-minute sessions may be available upon request if we determine together that additional time would be beneficial. Any fee adjustments for longer sessions will be discussed in advance so you know exactly what to expect.

I provide both! In-person sessions are held on the East side of Evansville, Indiana. Virtual sessions can be provided from the comfort of your home, office, or wherever you may land. As long as you are physically in the state of Indiana, and in a location where you can have confidential conversations, we can meet. (You can even be in your car if it’s the only space available, but only if the vehicle is parked and no one else is around!)

Woohoo! Let’s get the process going! Getting started is simple. You can fill out the interest form located on any page of my website.
Once submitted, I’ll review your information. I aim to reach out within 1-2 business days to discuss next steps, answer any questions you may have, and get you scheduled.
I so look forward to meeting you!

It’s completely normal to feel nervous about starting therapy. Many people do. My goal is to make this process feel as comfortable, affirming, and human as possible from the very beginning.
Before your first session, you’ll complete intake paperwork at least 24 hours in advance. Then, at your scheduled time, you’ll either come into my office or join me virtually—whatever you’ve arranged. From there, we’ll simply start by getting to know each other. There’s no pressure to “have it all figured out” or to share everything at once.
In our early sessions (typically the first 3–6), we focus on building a strong foundation. That means getting a sense of who you are, what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping for, and helping you feel more comfortable with the therapy process. We move at a pace that feels right for you.
My work is trauma-informed and affirming, for folks of all backgrounds. Therapy with me isn’t just about processing pain—although we absolutely make space for that when needed. It’s also about connection, curiosity, and moments of strength. In our sessions, we might laugh, cry, and sit with the things we can’t always control—often all in the same conversation.
You don’t have to show up any certain way. You just have to show up as you are.

Being trauma-informed means I approach our work with an understanding of how past experiences can impact your nervous system, relationships, and sense of safety. Creating a space that feels grounded, respectful, and not overwhelming is a central part of that.
There is no expectation to share everything right away—or ever before you’re ready. Therapy is a gradual process, and we’ll move at a pace that feels manageable for you. You are always in control of what you share and when.
Building trust and a sense of safety comes first. From there, we can gently explore whatever feels most important to you, at a pace that supports—not overwhelms—you.

Yes. This is a space where your identity, experiences, and emotions are fully seen and honored. I understand that being queer and trans today comes with unique challenges, including the fear, anger, and rage that can come from our current political climate, threats to rights, or daily experiences of marginalization. Whatever you’re feeling is valid, and you will not be judged here.
In therapy, we can hold both the pain and the joy of being queer. We’ll explore your experiences, challenges, and relationships in ways that are affirming, trauma-informed, and tailored to your needs. My goal is to support you wherever you are—whether that means processing harm, cultivating resilience, deepening connection, or finding space for queer joy in your life.
Your story, identity, and well-being matter here, and this is a place to be your full, authentic self.

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to this. The length of therapy varies from person to person and depends on your goals, needs, and what you’re hoping to get out of the process.
Some clients come in for a shorter period of time to work through a specific concern, while others choose to stay longer for deeper or ongoing support. We’ll regularly check in about how things are going and whether your needs or goals have shifted.
I will always offer my professional perspective and recommendations, but you are in control of how long you choose to stay in therapy. You have the right to decide what feels helpful, when you feel ready to pause or end, and what pace feels right for you.

I understand that life happens, and sometimes schedules need to change. To balance flexibility with respect for both of our time, I have the following policy:
Clients are asked to provide at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling needs. If a session is canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice and we’re unable to find another time within the same week, the full session fee will be charged.
If we’re able to reschedule your appointment within the same week, there is no charge.
No-shows (missed appointments without notice) are charged the full session fee.
I aim to be as understanding as possible, while also maintaining consistency so I can hold your scheduled time and offer it to others when needed.
